On the top menu bar, the About menu is in alphabetical order but it might be better if it went in order of importance with Leadership first... Brand last, etc. 2.The "ABOUT" link on the top of each Chapter's page doesn't link anywhere. Most Chapters don't have photos of their directors nor bios. Would be nice if they did! Some of the names aren't even capitalized or have a period in between the first and last name almost like it was taken from an email address The "follow us on social media" section at the bottom of the Chapter page has links to content from 7 months ago. "The Latest" section at the top has articles from 2021. Maybe this should be sunset for now? Would be nice if at the top there was a drop down for all of the chapters. Currently you have to navigate to the bottom of a page to find a link for the chapters. Or it's under "Events" which doesn't seem like it belongs there. Maybe "Events" could go under "The Latest" When navigating through the top menu bar, it would be nice if the menu names WERE NOT clickable. It's a UI preference for sure but it's not always intuitive that there is information behind that first title. You know for sure people won't miss anything if you don't make it clickable and instead add a sub page. Job Board - do we use this much? Is this a focus? It seems pretty bare bones to have it's own header. The Leadership section has the list of Chapter Directors but it's missing a large majority. Maybe remove the photos from this page completely and instead add links to the individual chapter pages? Would also be nice if all those in the Leadership section had bios. Financials - Missing 2021 and possibly 2022 (depending on filing deadlines)
Lyft partnership is “social justice greenwashing” of their exploitive business practices
Given the fact that current or former board members are from Lyft and this recent investigative report, https://themarkup.org/news/2021/06/17/uber-and-lyft-donated-to-community-groups-who-then-pushed-the-companies-agenda , I strongly believe that there is not only a conflict of interest but a conflict of values. I have seen zero support from Lyft employees in the channel towards driver organizing efforts for basic rights like a living wage, paid time off and adequate representation in the work place. Instead they get us to do PR events for them. “It’s a proactive attempt to cloak themselves in racial justice … and creates a political environment where they cannot be accused of racism because they have created allies in minority communities,” said Dubal, the Hastings law professor. Let’s not let that happen and instead show solidarity with drivers organizing for their rights.

Can we better pace the adding of new members to Slack?
Let me start by saying I'm always excited to see fresh faces on Slack. Today (1/24 by 9:45pm ET) there were 27 new members. If that were the true pace of new members, that would be a totally different (good) issue to need to address. If we're just adding people in large batches, there's no way we're going to be able to properly engage with each of these new members. I want them to feel welcomed. I want them added to the right channels for them. I won't actually say hi to anyone when it's a large group. I don't want anyone to feel left out. Anyway, I hope this is received with the care that is intended. I want us to be better able to deliver on the mission of TQ - empower Latinx professionals with the resources and support that they need to thrive and become leaders in the tech industry.
Techqueria Calendar to Subscribe to on different calendar apps
Would be cool if there is a techqueria calendar we could subscribe to. It would be nice to keep track of all techqueria hosted events in one place (my calendar). It’s kind of hard to keep up with them all from just looking at slack, email or the website .
